Heutzutage wird die Haartransplantation auch durch die Veröffentlichung von Berichten über prominente Patienten immer beliebter.
Im Prinzip handelt es sich um die Restverteilung von vorhandenem Haar. Dieses geschieht in einem mehrstündigen ärtzlichen Eingriff in örtlicher Betäubung ambulant. Nach einer Ruhephase wachsen dann die Haare an den vorherigen kahlen Stellen normal weiter, und das lebenlang.
